THE GROWING COMMUNITY TOOLKIT

FINDING, UNDERSTANDING AND PROTECTING YOUR SPACE

Perhaps you’ve seen a corner of land that would make the perfect community garden. Or you’d like to get together with your neighbours to keep an eye on your local green space, do some litter picking and have a picnic. Or perhaps you’d like to plant some trees in your community? How can you find out who owns land in East Sussex? How do you get permission from the landowner? How can you understand your space – where’s the best place to grow vegetables, plant a tree, establish a meadow or put a bench? How can you protect your space in the long term?

The content of this module will be developed over the autumn 2024 and winter 2025, with a workshop to be held early 2025. To be notified of content updates and workshop booking please join our mailing list. If you’d like to keep in touch, or have any thoughts about the content, please do let us know. We’ll also be looking at case studies and would love to hear from you if you have an example you’d like to share.
